I build it from Aluminium tubing , starting with 1 1/4 at the base --- Longest element = 28 feet ( 1 foot for mounting ) -- Radiating portion = 27 feet ..... Shorter element = 9 feet ...... Spacing between elements = 5 inches ...... I did build one for 28 mhz and worked Japan with it with only 100 wattsAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13774746975006409578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1608381420022248590.post-47320811133289282402017-01-13T19:19:56.876+00:002017-01-13T19:19:56.876+00:00Thanks for the link Bas. That looks like a really nice version.

I think one of the biggest problems with a vertical on 10m / 11m is the mechanical strength in the wind. 8 metres is a lot for a vertical antenna without supports.

Nice price too! :o))
John, EI7GLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02903298584057380083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1608381420022248590.post-77930756118908238972017-01-13T14:44:43.449+00:002017-01-13T14:44:43.449+00:00Hi John, just for info. See: http://www.hpsd.nl/contact/j-pole.
It could be a interesting view for mechanical reasons. I know this antenna works very well compared to a endfed 1/2 wave for example. The advantage is in the height as this design is 8m long!
73, BasPE4BAS, Bashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12958141238330445285noreply@blogger.com
