QRSS is a CW mode in which the receiver bandwidth is drastically reduced and the rate at which code is sent is slowed beyond that which would be normally be readable by ear. A typical signal has a
dot length of three seconds and
a dot length of nine. The signal is 'decoded' by looking at the trace on a computer monitor rather than by ear.
There is a dedicated group called the QRSS Knights promoting the mode and are very active during the Summer months on 28 MHz.
