Low VHF Band Short Range Device GURL Licence in New Zealand

A lot of countries allow the use of low power transmitters at certain frequencies without the need of a licence. In a previous post, I looked at the Low VHF Band LIPD Licence in Australia. In this post, I'll look at the similar Short Range Devices General User Radio Licence in New Zealand.

Description... "The Short Range Devices GURL licence is described by the New Zealand authorities as follows... "With this licence you can own and operate low power radio transmitting equipment known as Short Range Devices (SRDs), Restricted Radiation Devices (RRDs), Low Interference Potential Devices (LIPDs) or Spread Spectrum Devices (SSDs).

The licence you operate under is a General User Radio Licence (GURL). This means you can transmit without the need to get a licence in your own name or pay licence fees.

You share the spectrum with other people who are using the same frequency and power at the same time as you. If someone else operating within the parameters of the licence causes interference to your service, you have to accept that interference."
