In the most recent edition updated on the 2nd of September 2020, the new 5-metre (60 MHz) and 8-metre (40 MHz) bands were added.

These changes from the previous version may necessitate application code or data changes:
Addition of the FST4 submode to the MFSK mode in the Mode and Submode Enumerations.
Addition of the 5m and 8m bands to the Band Enumeration.
Addition of ARRL-10-GHZ and WW-DIGI to the Contest-ID Enumeration.

While this in itself is a small step, it is part of the process of having 5m & 8m accepted as new amateur radio bands.

Interesting stuff, John. I have to admit to not knowing a thing about those two bands, regardless of whether they are available this side of the water or not.
Hope the bands are to your liking at the moment. 2m undergoing a bit of a hiatus at present, more's the pity!

Does this mean that LOTW, eQSL etc will accept 8m QSO's?
Today - Saturday 31 Oct 2020 saw a short but strong 8m opening between EI and S5,
and I managed to work EI4GNB, finally, after having heard him several times.
We now made a good FT8 contact, with -20 received from Tim, while he was between +20 and -10.
Distance covered: almost 1800kms (IO63 to JN75)
